1. Christina Aguilera
A pre-Dirrty-era Christina came on to perform not just her breakout hit “Genie in a Bottle,” but also the Diane Warren–penned “I Turn to You,” which I hope she dedicated to Donna and David.
Christina Aguilera performing “Genie in a Bottle”:
Somehow, Monica — who was at the top of her game at the time — does a special private performance for just Dylan and Gina?! This didn’t make any sense.
Personally, I would have preferred that Brenda returned — so that she could’ve dueted with Kelly on a cover of the “Boy Is Mine.”

3. Wild Orchid
Fergie’s pre-Black Eyed Peas group helped put a little extra romance into the Valentine’s Day episode by helping reunite Donna with bad-boy Noah.
Also, again, it’s nice that all these bands do private performances.

4. Kara’s Flowers (aka Maroon 5)
Before Maroon 5 broke big, Adam Levine and co. were known as Kara’s Flowers. Also, they are realistically, probably, the only band that After Dark could really afford.

5. Powerman 5000
The industrial-metal rock band not only performed at the club, but also let David (who thankfully had ditched his rap career at this point) direct their new music video.
6. The Flaming Lips
Usually a band much more at home on 120 Minutes, but Wayne Coyne and co. rocked the Peach Pit After Dark at the height of “She Don’t Use Jelly” mania.
Luckily, the forever cool Lips won over the kids in the 9-0-2-1-0. Even leading that tool Steve to (infamously) admit, “You know, I’ve never been a big fan of alternative music, but these guys rocked the house!”

7. The Cramps
The punk band went from playing CBGB to playing the After Dark — a win?
The band, appropriately enough, played in the club during the Halloween episode, “Gypsies, Cramps and Fleas,” but, unfortunately they did not perform “I Was a Teenage Werewolf,” a missed opportunity.

And a few other notable Peach Pit performers, that unfortunately there are no clips for:
The band played “Lovefool” during the gang’s college graduation party.
Not only was Jade’s “Every Day of the Week” a featured video during the closing credits of a few episodes of the show, but the girls also made a cameo during a Valentine’s Day telethon held at the Peach Pit After Dark.
She, of course, played ’90s mom jam anthem “I Love You Always Forever.”
