This is magician and comedian Justin Willman, whoalong with his wife Jillian Sipkins, captivated the Internet last yearwith their hilarious Drunk History parody of how they met.
But this time he’s back to “help parents explain super complex issues in the news to their children,” specifically the anti-transgender bathroom argument.
To help whet your appetite for reason and rationality, he uses two of his favorite things peanut butter and jelly.
He demonstrates that yes, there’s peanut butter in the jar and yes, there is jelly in the jar.
“Now this is where the peanut butter goes,” he said as he put the cup labeled “PB” over the jar. “And this is where the jelly goes. We know that because it says ‘J’ for ‘jelly.”
But then through the power of magic, suddenly the peanut butter and jelly have switched places…
“What’s that peanut butter?” he asks. “You say you’re actually jelly?”
“And jelly, you’re actually peanut butter?” he asks.
“Oh man,” he continues. “I’m so sorry I violated your privacy. Guess it doesn’t matter what it says on the jar. If it has peanut butter in it, we should just show it some respect and call it peanut butter because it didn’t choose the jar.”
He then goes on to note how some peoplethink the peanut butter is going to pretend to be jelly just so it can sneak over and listen to the jelly use the bathroom or other perverse assumptions.
Clearly that’s not what this is about at all.
“If it’s peanut butter, let it pee with peanut butter,” he said. “If it’s jelly, let it pee with jelly.”
And after delivering one final magical comment, he exits stage left, leaving you craving both more understanding from society and also a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
You have to check it out for yourself.
